Casual Play glossary for the tally
Short definitions for words we use when reading Google Play headers.
- Ads
- Listing notes that the app is free with advertisements.
- Best-for tag
- Our one-line session fit, derived from how the app plays — not a store badge.
- Checked date
- The day we opened the listing and copied public facts.
- Content rating
- Age label shown on the store header (Everyone, Everyone 10+, and so on).
- Downloads
- Install band Google Play publishes for some apps. If the header omits it, we say so.
- Editors' Choice
- A Google Play badge when the listing shows it; we never invent it.
- IAP
- In-app purchases. Some listings also note random items.
- Listing
- The public Google Play page for an app package.
- Package name
- The Android application id in the store URL.
- Reviews count
- Number of ratings shown beside the star average.
- Shortlist / tally
- The small set of apps we keep on this desk.
- Store still
- A gameplay preview image supplied with the project artwork.
- Tally
- Our desk metaphor: marks we keep for Casual Play titles we can re-check.
- Users Interact
- A Play content descriptor when the listing includes it.
